Since January 2017, storytellers from the Erzählkunst e.V. association have been regularly telling fairy tales from around the world in a refugee centre in Berlin’s Alt-Mariendorf district under the motto ‘Storytelling connects’.

The storytellers tell their stories in two languages and perform in tandem, consisting of German and Arabic or Farsi-speaking storytellers. Listeners are encouraged to tell stories from their home country in their own language.

Children and parents from the refugee centres are invited to this sociable get-together, which also includes singing, playing, crafting and drinking tea. The children can act as interpreters.

The storytelling events take place on the last Thursday of every month at the Nachbarschaftszentrum Britzerstraße, Britzerstr. 60E, 12109 Berlin.
