Mari möchte euch die wahre Geschichte erzählen, wie sie, nachdem sie verlassen worden war, im Sommer vor ihrem Schulbeginn 40 Tage lang ganz allein durch die norwegische Natur wanderte. Ihr seid eingeladen, einen Blick durch das Fenster ihres Kinderzimmers zu werfen und euch auf eine Expedition durch den größten Wald der Welt zu begeben – mit einem kleinen Abstecher zu den am wenigsten übelriechenden Teilen der altnordischen Mythologie und einem Hubschrauberflug hinaus aufs offene Meer am Rande der Welt. „Breidablikk“ verbindet Autobiografie, mythisches Geschichtenerzählen und Satire, um die heroische Geschichte der norwegischen Ölindustrie zu beleuchten.

„Breidablikk“ feierte im Herbst 2024 in Amsterdam seine Premiere und entstand, nachdem Mari Arbeiter auf Ölplattformen zu ihrer persönlichen Beziehung zur Natur befragt hatte. Das Stück tourte bereits auf großen und kleinen Bühnen in Norwegen. Für die Story Oase Berlin wurde das Stück weiterentwickelt, und dies wird Maris erster Auftritt in Deutschland sein.

BREIDABLIKK

Mari wants to tell you the true story of how being dumped led her to walk all alone for 40 days in the Norwegian nature, the summer before high school. You are invited to peek through the window of her childhood bedroom and embark on an expedition through the world’s largest forest, a little detour to visit the least smelly part of old Norse mythology, and a helicopter ride out to the open sea at the edge of the world. «Breidablikk» combines autobiography, mythical storytelling, and satire to explore the heroic story of the Norwegian oil industry.

«Breidablikk» had its pilot premier in Amsterdam the fall of  2024, and was created after Mari interviewied oilrig-workers about their personal relationship to nature. The show and has toured on big and small stages in Norway. For Story Oase Berlin, the show has been developed further, and this will be Maris first show in Germany.

Über Mari:

Mari Qviller (26) stammt aus einer kleinen norwegischen Holzfällerstadt am Rande des größten Waldes der Welt. Sie ist Dramatikerin, Journalistin und Aktivistin und ist in der norwegischen Klimabewegung groß geworden. Sie hat einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Drehbuchschreiben und war sowohl im Theater als auch im Film tätig.
In ihrer Arbeit verbindet Mari Aktivismus, Humor, queere Perspektiven und traditionelle Volksmärchen.
Ihr Ziel ist es, uns zu zeigen, dass Norwegen nicht so fortschrittlich ist, wie sein Ruf uns glauben machen will.

Im Jahr 2023 besetzte Mari Qviller gemeinsam mit indigenen Sami-Aktivisten zwei Wochen lang die norwegische Regierung, und im Jahr 2025 wurden sie alle vom Obersten Gerichtshof für ihre Proteste freigesprochen.
Im Jahr 2021 spielte sie die Hauptrolle in einer Kampagne, die sich als Greenwashing-Aktion für den staatlichen norwegischen Ölkonzern Equinor herausstellte. Ziemlich widersprüchlich, finden Sie nicht auch?

About Mari:

Mari Qviller (26) comes from a small Norwegian lumber-town at the edge of the worlds biggest forest. She is a playwrite, journalist and activist, and has grown up in the Norwegian climate-movement. She has a bachelors in scriptwriting and has worked in both theatre and film.

In her work Mari combines activism, humour, queer perspectives and traditional folk-tales.

Her goal is to show that Norway isn’t as progressive as it’s reputation would have us believe.

In 2023 Mari Qviller occupoied the Norwegian goverment for two weeks together with indigenous Sami activists, and in 2025 they were all acquitted for there protests by the supreme court. 

In 2021 she starred in what turned out to be a greenwashing-campaign for the Norwegian state owned oil company Equinor. Kind of contradictory, wouldn’t you say?
