Songs of Partisan Women
is a storytelling performance that gives voice to women who have resisted oppression in France, Lithuania, and Ukraine — from the heroines of the French Resistance and the Sisters of the Forest in Soviet-occupied Lithuania to the women defending Ukraine today. Through stories and songs of courage, the show explores what it means to resist against all odds and how the strength of women shapes history.
Interwoven with resistance songs and Ukrainian folk music still sung in wartime, it blends poetry, memory, and emotion to celebrate the resilience of the human spirit. By connecting cultures and generations, Songs of Partisan Women invites audiences to listen, reflect, and engage in dialogue — offering hope, solidarity, and a reminder that storytelling and song remain powerful acts of resistance.
